The mum of a Brit accused of trying to grab a cop's gun in a bid to kill Donald Trump has pleaded for her son to be sent home after he was placed on suicide watch in prison.
Michael Sandford, 20, allegedly tried to snatch the officer's weapon during a rally at a Las Vegas casino on June 18, later telling officials that his plan was "to shoot and kill Donald Trump".
Now Lynne Sandford has promised to never abandon her son and has launched a crowdfunding campaign to seek support for his legal costs in the US.
Sandford, who has Asperger syndrome, is due to face trial in Las Vegas next month after pleading not guilty to charges of disrupting government business and official functions and being an illegal alien in possession of a gun.
Lynne, 41, from Dorking, Surrey, said she had only spoken to her son once since he was detained.
