IGP urges Nigerians to report officers who demand bail money

The Acting Inspector General of Police has called on members of the public to report cases of Police operatives demanding money for bail.

This is coming on the heels of reports of the practice in many police stations, despite posters adorning police facilities that bail is free.

Ibrahim Idris who spoke before the start a conference with senior officers of the police at the force headquarters in abuja, insists that police officers should be above board in their professional conduct.

The police chief also stresses that manning of road blocks remains banned and police operatives should refrain from mounting such blockades.
