Maria Sharapova on two year ban, heads for tennis practice

But amid reports that she may be able to compete again as early as January, Maria Sharapova whipped out her tennis racquet on Thursday for a spot of practice. She is missing out on the US Open after being banned from tennis for two years.

The 29-year-old athlete was spotted tosin the equipment in Los Angeles looking Sports casual in a grey sweater and sweatpants.

sunglasses.

Looking ready for action she wore some sparkling white Niketrainers.

Russian Tennis Federation (RTF) President Shamil Tarpishchev recently said he thinks that Maria – who was banned for doping offenses in June – may be able to playagain as early as January.

‘Everything will be decided in September. It is impossible two say for certain but I think she will start playing again byJanuary,’ m he said last month.

The five-time grand slam winnerwas suspended following a positive test for the banned mdrug meldonium during January’s Australian Open. She argued that she had been using the Latvian-made heart disease drug under medical advice for a decade and had not realised it had been added to the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) banned list on January 1, 2016.

In July, the Court of Arbitration for (CAS) said a ruling on her case would be held on September 19.

MOn Wednesday she looked summery chic when she stepped out in Beverly Hills in a frilly skirt, tank top and chic white blazer.
