A dog has been rescued from the rubble of the earthquake that rocked central Italy after being trapped for nine days.
The golden retriever named Romeo was discovered in the ruins of Amatrice, one of the towns worst hit by the devastating 6.2 magnitude quake.
Firefighters freed the pet after hearing a dog bark more than a week after an earthquake struck the area.
Footage showed the heartwarming moment the beloved pooch was reunited with his owners, who had returned to their home to retrieve some possessions.
Incredibly, Romeo appeared in good health and seemed relatively unaffected by his ordeal.
