EPL: Tottenham fight back to deny City at Etihad

Tottenham fought back from two goals down to snatch a point in a thrilling contest at Manchester City.

Leroy Sane and Kevin de Bruyne capitalised on two mistakes by goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to put the visitors ahead in the second half.

Dele Alli’s header gave the visitors hope and Son Heung-min slotted home the equaliser to deny City maximum points.

Pep Guardiola’s side missed the chance to move into the top four in the table, and are now two points behind second-placed Spurs and nine away from leaders Chelsea, who play Hull City on Sunday.

Swansea lifted themselves off the bottom of the Premier League table and dealt a huge blow to Liverpool’s title hopes with a thrilling win at Anfield.

The defeat leaves the Reds seven points behind leaders Chelsea.

Elsewhere, Wayne Rooney became Manchester United’s all-time leading goalscorer with a sensational stoppage-time free-kick that secured a 1-1 draw at Stoke.

It was Ronney’s 250th United goal, one more than Sir Bobby Charlton.

Andy Carroll scored twice to make it back-to-back victories for West Ham in the Premier League, as they beat Middlesbrough 3-1 at the Riverside.
